Day 20 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series

We're back with Day 20 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series. To Quickly recap, Advent is the preparation period for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. To prepare, we are partaking in daily devotionals until Christmas Day. With that said, let's jump right into today's devotional.

Today, let us read Isaiah 9:2, which says The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned.

Why did Jesus come? Jesus came because of God's love as the ultimate sacrifice to give us salvation and the promise of eternal life. Jesus also came for another reason. In 1 John 3:8, the apostle John gives a rather unexpected and clear statement of why Jesus came. He said, "The Son of God appeared to destroy the devil's work." As Christians, we believe in both good and evil, heaven and hell, and we have an entity known as satan, who is the reason for all the darkness on the earth. As ISAIAH 9:2 says, Jesus came so that we might have light. Jesus is the light of the World, and in Jesus' name, all darkness has no power over us, and in Jesus' name, we have the power to overcome the darkness. We celebrate Christmas for the coming of Jesus and the fulfillment of God's promises through Christ Jesus. God is amazing, and I thank him so much for leading me and many others to Christ.

As you meditate on Isaiah 9:2, think about why Christ has come and express your gratitude to the lord for this miracle of Christ. Let us also sing the song Joy to the World because it is such a joy that the lord has come. If you are not a believer, I urge you to ask God to reveal who Christ is so that you may form a relationship with him. Let's pray:

Lord, thank you for being there no matter how dark things get. I always have hope. Please show me the way to go when I need clarification or direction. And help me be a light to others. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have concluded day 20 of our 25 Days of Advent series. As your sister in Christ, I hope you have a fantastic holiday season. Merry Christmas, and have a wonderful day.
