Day 13 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series

We're back with Day 13 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series. To Quickly recap, Advent is the preparation period for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. To prepare, we are partaking in daily devotionals until Christmas Day. With that said, let's jump right into today's devotional.

Before we start today's devotional, thank you for being open to this devotional series. As I read today's verse, please know that this verse comes with no condemnation, only love. I'm also learning as I share these devotionals, and I am far from perfect, but God has set me free from world living, and I want to emulate living a godly life and share what is right with you. Okay, so let's dive into this scripture.

For today's devotional, let us begin by reading Titus 2:11-14, which says: 11 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.

This scripture is a lot to unpack, but in summary, it says that only some have seen it, but salvation is available to everyone based on grace through Jesus Christ. And what does this grace do? "It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age.

What does that look like? Living Godly lives looks like loving Christ, loving others, doing our best to stay away from world pleasures that can cause us to sin, and living in the fruits of the spirit, which are love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

As you meditate on Titus 2:11-14, consider ways to model a Godly lifestyle. If Jesus was physically standing next to me, would he be pleased with what I am doing? How can I seek Godly things and do what is good daily? Think about these questions, pray, read the word, and allow God to speak to you. Always examine your life and work towards making positive changes that will please God.

We have concluded day twelve of our 25 Days of Advent series. As your sister in Christ, I hope you have a fantastic holiday season. Merry Christmas, and have a wonderful day.
