Day 23 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series

We're back with Day 23 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series. To Quickly recap, Advent is the preparation period for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. To prepare, we are partaking in daily devotionals until Christmas Day. With that said, let's jump right into today's devotional.

Today, let us read, Luke 1:46-56 specifically Luke 1:47 which says My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.

God blessed Mary with a special gift which was to carry Jesus. Mary responded to this miracle with a song to God. When Mary says, “From now on, all generations will call me blessed,” she wasn’t being proud. She recognized and accepted the gift God had given to her.

God is pleased when we accept His gifts and use them for His glory. He created us to accomplish his special plan and purpose. God loves when we give Him all the credit. That’s what Mary did. Mary knew the miracle God was doing through her was the result of God’s ability, not her own.

As we meditate on today’s devotional let us think about our own gifts that God has given us. Let us reflect on the miracles that God completes through us and let us ask ourselves these questions:

  1. What are your God-given talents and gifts? How are you using them to glorify God?

  2. How can we celebrate God’s work in us without making it about us?

Let us pray: Lord help us to be like Mary and express gratitude to you for the gifts that you have given us and help us to use our gifts to help others. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We have concluded day 23 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series. As your sister in Christ, I hope you have a fantastic holiday season. Merry Christmas, and have a wonderful day.
