Day 6 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series

We're back with Day 6 of our 25 Days of Advent devotional series. To Quickly recap, Advent is the preparation period for the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. To prepare, we are partaking in daily devotionals until Christmas Day. With that said, let's jump right into today's devotional.

Today, we will read two scriptures: John 8:12 and Matthew 5:14-16. In John 8:12, Jesus says, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life." Then let us read Matthew 5:14-16, and in this scripture, Jesus says 14 : "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be

hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

Jesus Christ is the world's light, and as Christians, we are to model Christ on earth and shine bright for Jesus. This Christmas season, do your best to share about Jesus with those around you as the Holy Spirit leads you. Also, make it a goal to allow your life to model the light of Jesus Christ so that others may have an example of how to show up on this earth.

As you meditate on these scriptures, think about ways your life can model Jesus. Also, listen to these two songs. The first is Here I Am to Worship by Israel & New Breed, as well as Build My Life by Pat Barrett.

Let us pray, Lord, help us not to be afraid to shine our light. You have not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of love and a sound mind. Help us to exhibit your love in our daily lives. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.

We have concluded day six of our 25 Days of Advent series. As your sister in Christ, I hope you have a fantastic holiday season. Merry Christmas, and have a wonderful day.
