14 gratitude journal prompts

Happy New Month. It can be easy to forget to express gratitude. Starting a gratitude journal is a great way to keep track of all the fantastic things you are grateful for, and you can look back and see all the fantastic things that have happened in your life. I am making a list of everything I am grateful for, but if you find it hard to think of something to be grateful for. Here are a few prompts:

Gratitude Journal Prompts

  1. Write about a success you had (and who helped you)

  2. What is a failure or mistake in your life for which you're grateful?

  3. What's something you're grateful to have today that you didn't have a year ago?

  4. What is something small and simple that you are grateful for today? Describe why it brings you joy.

  5. Reflect on a person who has made a positive impact in your life. How have they influenced you, and why are you grateful for their presence?

  6. List three moments from today that made you smile or laugh. Describe each moment and explain why you appreciate them.

  7. Think about a challenging situation you have recently faced. What lessons have you learned from it, and how can you find gratitude in the experience?

  8. Write about an achievement or accomplishment you are proud of. What steps did you take to reach this milestone, and why are you grateful for the journey?

  9. Recall a time when someone extended kindness or helped you significantly. Express your gratitude towards that individual and explain how their actions impacted you.

  10. Reflect on the beauty of nature around you. Write about a specific natural element that brings you joy and gratitude. Describe how it makes you feel and why it is meaningful to you.

  11. Consider an object or possession that you appreciate greatly. Explain why it holds significance in your life and how it brings you a sense of gratitude.

  12. Write about a skill or talent that you possess and feel grateful for. How does this ability enhance your life, and what positive experiences has it brought you?

  13. Reflect on a challenging period in your life that you have overcome. Write about the personal growth and strength you discovered during that time, expressing gratitude for your resilience and progress.

  14. Describe your favorite moment of each part of the day.

Remember, the purpose of a gratitude journal is to cultivate a positive mindset and appreciate the abundance in your life. Take the time to reflect on these prompts and enjoy expressing your gratitude.
